About Robert Luckadoo: Author, Speaker, Motivator

Robert LuckadooRobert Luckadoo has a knack for success. Whether it’s in the world of NASCAR racing, collegiate fast-pitch softball or financial services, he’s always found a way to win. It’s no wonder that audiences find him to be such an inspiring speaker.

A geophysics major with a master’s degree in business management, Robert started his first company—a geological consulting firm—in 1989 and grew it into a multimillion-dollar geo-technical corporation with multiple offices and a loyal client base across the southeastern United States. After selling the environmental corporation in 2000, Robert joined Farm Bureau Insurance as an insurance agent, and over the past fifteen years, has proved himself to be very successful financial services professional. In 2003 he purchased a small independent agency in western North Carolina, tripled its size over the next five years and sold it as a well-established, well-respected ongoing business.

Robert has an excellent reputation for commitment and integrity and a lengthy history of customer satisfaction within the financial service industry. His success as an agent is well-documented. His honors include being named North Carolina Farm Bureau Insurance New Agent of the Year, District New Agent of the Year and District Agent of the Year. Robert is a member of the Southern Farm Bureau Life Insurance Century Club, and a Grand Slam winner. He has also qualified for (5) SFBLI Round Table trips, (6) All-Stars, (4) Winner’s Challenge trips, and is a recipient of the NAIFA Quality Award and many other statewide and district awards.

And Robert’s track record literally extends to the track. He’s a former team owner and driver in the NASCAR Goody’s Dash and Winston Racing Series, having raced competitively at some of the most storied tracks in the nation. In 1997 he finished in the top fifteen as a rookie driver in the Discount Auto Parts 250 at Daytona International Speedway. His love of sports and leadership skills have also led him to coaching positions in fast-pitch softball at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill and Meredith College in Raleigh, N.C., where he transformed the Avenging Angel team from cellar dwellers to conference contenders.

In recent years, Robert has added “business consultant” and “inspirational speaker” to his resume and written his first book, Grit in Your Craw: The 8 Strengths You Need to Succeed in Business and Life. These avenues have allowed him to share the lessons that success has taught him with thousands of people.

When he isn’t working, Robert is likely to be outside. Whether it’s on a golf course, on a hiking trail or in his boat on a well-stocked Southeastern reservoir, he and his wife, Paula, enjoy spending time together in the great outdoors.
